The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) provides eligible children access to benefits for basic dental services for children aged 2-17 years for basic dental services. Provided you meet the eligibility criteria including,
- Being eligible for Medicare and
- Receiving or are a member of a family that receives certain Australian government payments
The total benefit entitlement is capped at $1,000 per child over two consecutive calendar years. The services that come under the CDBS include,
- X-rays
- Fillings
- Root canals
- Fissure sealing
- Extractions
- Partial dentures
- Dental clean
Orthodontics or cosmetic dental procedures are not available under the CDBS.
